Seizure of Rhino Horn and Ivory

The Born Free Foundation wishes to congratulate INTERPOL on the success of its recent operation in six southern African countries, which resulted in the seizure of 400kg of ivory and rhino horn, the closure of an illegal ivory factory and the arrest of 41 people.
The two day operation, which was partly funded by the Born Free Foundation, involved inspections and raids on markets and shops between 13th and 14th May by officers from various law and wildlife agencies in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
